HYPNOTHERAPY: a psychotherapeutic approach which employs hypnosis in combination with counseling in order to facilitate healing and promote well-being.
The Examining Board will review all materials submitted and either accept or reject the Application. The applicant must appeal any decisions by the Standards committee concerning their application within 10 business days by e-mail.

Certificate/diploma of satisfactory completion OR Course completion verification form signed by the administrator of the educational institution where the applicant completed his/her course(s).

Must have achieved IACH Resident level Certification
or
Must have successfully completed a basic hypnotherapy course with a minimum of 200 hours (onsite and/or distance). Total hours include class time, studying, watching videos and practice (*).

Must have successfully completed an advanced hypnotherapy course with a minimum of 200 hours. Total hours include class time, studying, watching videos and practice. (*).
and
Must have successfully completed a minimum of 120 hours of counseling training. The counseling portion of hypnotherapy or any related training would be included in the counseling requirement. (*).

(**) A general list of 600 hypnotherapeutic sessions has to be provided, including approximate dates, problem area and number of sessions per client.

If the Applicant does not meet all of the requirements of the Counseling Hypnotherapist or Counseling Hypnotherapist (Cand.) status he/she may be accepted to IACH at the Resident Hypnotherapist level.

1. Verification of student teaching (e.g. an outline of the course(s) taught, video/DVD recording of one 45-min. class presentation)
2. Official written statement from the educational institution where teaching was taking place OR the Verification of teaching experience form signed by the administrator of the above mentioned educational institution [form provided below]

In order to be granted the Hypnotherapy Teacher status the candidate must complete 200 hours teaching hypnotherapy under the direct or indirect supervision of his/her mentor who is IACH qualified. [(*) pt. 1-4]

3. Mentor's evaluation of competency (in writing) addressed to IACH
4. Evaluation criteria for students acceptable to IACH

Hypnotherapists and others, who are recognized internationally for their outstanding achievement as leaders in the field of hypnotherapy and/or related field, may be granted an honorary membership status. No verification of the applicant's credentials is required by IACH at this membership level.
