IACH Standards
Levels of Certification Requirements
Please note the following. If you have completed an IACH approved course please provide details on the application form and refer to our Approved School section.
Student:
- Completed Application form
- CAD$25.00 Application fee and CAD$50.00 dues. For other currencies please go to http://www.xe.com/ucc/ for conversion rates.
- Student must be enrolled in a hypnotherapy course or have taken previous training in Hypnotherapy.
- Only one reference is needed on the application form.
Resident Hypnotherapist:
• Completed Application form
• CAD$25.00 Application fee and CAD$80.00 dues. For other currencies please go to http://www.xe.com/ucc/ for conversion rates.
• Must have successfully completed a hypnotherapy course in which the total numbers of hours (onsite and/or distance) are a minimum of Two hundred. Total hours include class time, studying, watching videos and practice. There must be a minimum of 30 hours of counseling training completed. This can be part of the hypnotherapy course or taken separately.
• Must submit the names of two references from professionals in the field.
• Must have read and agree to abide by the Code of Ethics and Rules of Conduct on the IACH web site.
• The Examining Board will review all materials submitted and either accept or reject the Application. If an application is rejected then please refer to our policy below.
Counseling Hypnotherapist• Completed Application form

• Must have successfully completed a hypnotherapy course in which the total numbers of hours (onsite and/or distance) are a minimum of two hundred. Total hours include class time, studying, watching videos and practice.
• Must submit the names of two references from professionals in the field.
• Must have successfully completed a minimum of 90 hours of counseling training. The counseling portion of Hypnotherapy or any related training would be included in the counseling requirement.
• Must have completed an advanced hypnotherapy course with a minimum of 200 hours. Total hours include class time, studying, watching videos and practice.
• Must have completed a minimum of 600 hours working with clients using hypnotherapy and counseling. One of the references must attest to these hours.
• Must have read and agree to abide by the IACH Code of Ethics and Rules of Conduct on the IACH web site.
• The Examining Board will review all materials submitted and either accept or reject the Application. If an application is rejected then please refer to our policy below.
Hypnotherapy Teacher
- Must meet all of the requirements for the Counseling Hypnotherapist Level.
- Must have at least 2 years experience teaching hypnotherapy.
- Must have evaluation criteria for students acceptable to the IACH.
- Must submit all supporting documents which verify the above criteria.
